  • Vray 3.5 Production RT update style...

    Hey

Right so playing with the new production RT module. Looks quite cool. Both progressive and bucked base... Just wanted to know would it be maybe possible to set a bucked render that is more... progresive like? Say I can specify to render 1/4 of bucket, meaning every 4th pixel will render meaning that image would re-render in 4 passes. Right now it takes quite a while on some scenes to render the image as its final production quality... Or maybe we can specify a noise treshold?

Say min noise treshold, 0.1 max noise treshold 0.01, passes 4 - he would then render at 0.1, then re-render at 0.066, then 0.033, then 0.01 ?

    Regards

It's possible, but I'm not quite sure yet that it's needed. For 3.50.04, I added an option to always use progressive sampling for IPR. This means that you can keep your normal production settings with the bucket mode, but still get progressive updates for IPR.

    Best regards,

      Hey

      Sounds good.

Can you please also allow us to keep using bucked mode? Dont lock it down to progressive only.

Also can we somehow display bucket in progressive? I find it very helpfull, like old maya ipr if I'm not wrong...

Yes, there is an option to switch this off.

The progressive renderer doesn't really render in buckets in the regular meaning of the term.
