Hi,
I'm looking at using a general vrayenvironmentfog to give our scenes some 3d fog effect/distance effect at a closer range. Up till now we used box gizmo's to end the scenes. (We use hdri's as I was thinking of using the aerialperspective).
However due to the size of our projects scenes tend to have total size of around 500x500m. When I use the environmentfog I'm limited to 1000m distance, meaning it is often too visible to use as is. Is there a way to increase this distance / or lessen the effect?
Fog setup is the same as the boundary's general fog(http://www.the-boundary.com/blog/201...-08-atmosphere)
I've tried adjusting the parameters (stepsize, subdivs, max steps) but that didn't have a visible effect. Decreasing the fogdistance made it stronger, as expected. Adding a map to density just seems to lock up the render when going from LC to progressive.
Am I missing something or is this a scene size limitation?
vray 3.5 adv
3dsmax 16
unit setup is mm and display is meters.
Thanks!
Dean
