  • Deactivating Render Elements

    hi!

Is there a possibility to temporarily deactivate an render element? The AO takes long to render and I would like to just deactivate for test rendering without deleting it.

    cheers

    Hello,

You can turn off all elements with the "Elements Active" checkbox and if you want to turn off individual elements - you can use their "vrayVFB" checkbox:

Heh I asked that like 2 days ago o.O

Can Vray maybe take the Max Enabled tick instead of overriding it with his own or its too max bound ?

Could save some duplicate threads o.O

Thank you Yavor for the answer.
But turning the AOV off with vrayVFB doesnt prevent it from being calculated. And I would need the other AOVs, so turning off Elements Active doesnt help.

That is strange - in my simple tests turning off with the vrayVFB checkbox works as expected.

Can you share a simplified scene in which it doesn't?

I spend around 1-2h the other day on dealing with state sets and render elements. This would've been 5 min job with this script! Thanks buddy!

you can actually create a scripted state which turns off render elements per state. But really, I would love to have this option working with state sets in regular render elements tab as it should.

I take this back, actually state sets now support vray vfb on / off by default!
