  • Material Help

So I was updating some of my materials and wanted to match one to a bolt that my Co uses and Im pretty close but my OCD is like nooooo you have to get the dirt in there as well just because, so I was trying to use the V-Ray Dirt to get the dirt in between the threads and such which was going ok but now Ive had a brain fart and cant get my head around how to make it so it doesn't reflect a highlight like the top bolt in the photo, the bottom one is the one with the material Im trying to create on it. Any thoughts on this?

I think you just need to pull your VRay dirt into the reflect channel.... Black where the dirt is. Looking good, BTW.

Yea I figured that as soon as I posted it but still no luck its still reflecting in the bottom of the threads, Ive given up on it for the time being. Will revisit it when I have more time.

Put your dirt into an output map and adjust the curve.
