I agree with all of you who said don't switch during a project
but my qustion is when is that time between projects???

updrade to viz2005 then you can use 1.45 as it is the equivalent of max6

I havnt really used the new features much in viz2005 yet but look through the list of changes and you may see some worth in it (even if you just want to be able to use lightmapping!)

I had no problem switching over although I did not switch in the middle of a project. I had no problems with bringing projects from 1.09 over. Just upadted my materials and started using the lightmap for a 2nd bounce.

The only thing why we switched back here is that the irradiance map viewer is not compatible with 1.45. So, impossible to merge our solutions
