  • Alpha in a reflection?

    Anyone know of a nifty way to pull an alpha for a window scenic, but reflected in a mirror?

    as long as the shot isn`t too reliant on the reflection could you go old school and just mirror the whole room behind a hollow mirror frame lighting and all ?
    window might not be in the same position so you`d have to tweak that.

      You could try changing the Affect channels option of your mirror material to "Color+Alpha" or "All channels". This should give you the desired results.

        Thanks, I'll try that. For the moment, I assigned a color to the window light and then keyed it out in post. Not the best, but it worked for what I was after. I'll try changing channels on the mirror material too. Good thought.
