  • Vray equivalent to Arnold Trace sets

    Hello Chaos group

I am researching how to make realistic CG eyes.

The setup requires multiple objects with SSS Shaders on them (I'm using alsurface) -

The iris, sclera etc all need to be part of an sss trace set. Otherwise light wont get transferred from one mesh to another. Arnold has a way of making trace sets to do this.

How can it be done in Vray?

    Thanks

    Steve ~

Also would you be able to suggest a ways I can test the solution to see how it works and whats going on?

What exactly is going on when making multiple object part of the same trace set?

    Any help will be fantastic.

    Does this work with alsurface?

Try with Raytraced SSS ID in V-Ray object properties - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...jectProperties
If it was that easy, it would have already been done
