Is it possible to bake textures using VRay Standalone? I can't find any appropriate sounding commands here:

Yes, but you need to export a vrscene file first by running 3DS Max/Render to texture function. The exact procedure is :
1) Set RT as a Production engine
2) prepare and run a max script file>>
rtrend=renderers.current
rtrend.vrscene_on=true
rtrend.vrscene_fileName="E:\btest.vrscene"
3) Open the Render to texture dialog, adjust the settings and click on Render
