  • Render Size for A1/A0 Hording Sign

Has anyone here experience of rendering for a1 or a0 prints?
I have to produce a A1 or maybe an A0 sized print of an external rendering. What resolution can I get away with?

    Thanks,
    Tom

      large prints

we print a1 images regularly from 3500x2000 pixel images upsized in ps to 4500 pixels and a bit of unsharp mask.

wed prefer 5000x4000 native res but vray has problems rendering
if in max6 the renderstrips works well.
but havent had a chance to render this way for a job.
Renderstrips isnt worth it with scenes that have long setup/load times

I've saved renders straight out of VRay (no DR) at 10000 pixels wide. Must admit it was a one of fluke. I usually get stuck at 8500 pixels, prior
        to using 1.45 that is.

Images for hordings usually only require 100dpi as nobody will be expecting to see it up close. The target distance is at least 10m away.
If you render for A1 at 300dpi (say 8500x5800) that should be scaleable to just about anything.

I worked a file once that was 4m x 2.4m at 100 dpi. My god, the file was over 1GB and took 15 minutes just to open.

        Good luck.
