Can you install 1.45 without ever installing 1.09?

I purchased a license about a week or so ago. When I logged in for the first time, the download page offered me both the current revision of 1.09 and 1.45. As a non-pro user (with no production deadline to meet) I was much more interested in 1.45 than 1.09. I downloaded and installed 1.45

When I tried to render I got a black screen. A quick diagnostic showed that the second render tab was demanding a serial number. However, it offered no challange code.

Is it possible to do what I attempted to do? Can you skip 1.09? Do you have to install 1.09 before upgrading to 1.45?

did you install the vrlserver? is it running?

If you didnt, you must install the vrlserver, and put the auth code into that program. Then that program must be running when ever you start max/viz.

The help file shows you what to do.
