Yesterday I posted a question about using the Max alpha matt with Vray. I found a post that directed me to the Material wrapper in Vray. This doesn't replicate the Max - Alpha Matt Material or Final Render Alpha Matt Material.
For me the point of an alpha matt material is to punch a hole through one object using another object. You can effectively cut through to the alpha channel at any point in a screen.
As far as I can see the Vray material wrapper doesn't do this, it merely turns down the visability of an object with the option of using it to partially effect the alpha channel.
Am I getting this wrong - is there any other way to do this in Vray.
By the way I am using 1.09 .
Thanks
