this is true, a person could always give the client a series of files. one that they can manuever through (codec included) and then for computer challenged something simpler. the people I deal with still don't really use computers. they want video tape and slides.

Hey Guys, thanks for all your comments.
I'm going to try them and see what works for me, but as you have tried them I was wondering what format, codec, etc I should produce the animation in before I convert it using the programs you have suggested. My source will be a tga file for each frame & i'll use either RAM player or Video post to create an initial movie for conversion.

Uncompressed AVI gives the best results.

or use the HuffyUV Codec instead of uncompressed AVI. HuffyUV is still a lossless compression codec, from which you can encode afterwards. We use the windows media encoder to generate .wmv files. For a minute and a half animation, the raw HuffyUV .avi file is about a gig, compared with an uncompressed AVI which would be about 10gig. Still large, but is a great source file to encode from into mpeg or wmv.

by the way when you farm the animation do you always use frame split and save every frame in TIF format?

I'm not sure what you mean by frame split, but I always render to still frames saved as TGA. Why TGA? I don't know.. old habit, I guess TIFF works as well.

the question that i have is even when i use a farm it always takes 150 hours just to do a animation with radiosity and it takes more with vray animation. do you guys have any rendering settings that is the best for an animation to be done fastly?
