  • How do I get a decent environmental reflection?

I've created a small exterior view of some houses. I want to get the windows facing out of the scene to reflect a jpeg I have. I have used AEC windows and applied a vray material to the glass, with the jpeg added to the reflection map option. This just seems to reflect the picture on each window, which isn't what I was looking for.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

you can put the image on a plane outside the windows and set the plane to be hidden from camera...that way the camera wont see it, but the reflections will

Of course! I should have thought of that. Guess it's a bit late and the brain is fussy. Thanks Dude.

To give the reflections a little more variety, you could curve or arc the plane they the image is mapped on.

            Hi.

I tend to do all my reflections in PS. One question there; if the scene is external (as it would be).. do you have to make a light so it shines on this dome/plane. This is one of the things I never really understood. PS is quick for me as is.

You could, or you could make it self-illuminated
