i saw that they could buy the same licence and software without the BOOKS for a cheaper price

3dsmax is only sold through authorized discreet retailers

Back on topic, well seeing as it hasnt been released yet, it would be worth while looking around after its out. Although im pretty sure Max is always shipped with all the manuals and what not. So the price difference will be minimal.
