  • Transferring Vray to a new pc

Just ordered a new pc that I will be putting together next week.

My question is: How do I transfer Vray over to my new machine? Or am I allowed to have it installed on both? I'm just nervous that when I try to switch, I'll end up with Vray that doesn't work on either system!

    Thanks

I got a new mobo, and needed a new auth, i just emailed them explaining, and got a new auth code.

I have to reformat, I wondering if i will need to reauth. when i do it? Is the auth codes based on hardware only? or is it software/os based too?

Same here. Even if I did keep vray on this machine I would have to reformat - after a couple years its really starting to get junked up.

Not sure what would be the case with that.

depends on the version of vray your using. if its a recent one of the betas then its got a floating liscence. if its an older version then you will have to get a new liscence code from vlado....which you will probably have to change on the release of 1.5

I am using 1.45 so its a floating license right? But I'm not sure what the difference is between that and the old version.

Oh wait. I just realized that if I'm going to have 2 computers soon, I might have to switch back to 1.09 so I will be able to use distributed rendering.

            Geez, what a headache!
