  • Opacity based trees and reflect/refract map

I'm sure this isn't a new problem and that someone will have asked before, but I can't find any search results.

I'm using tree maps on quadpatches and sticking the alpha into the refract slot.

If I use a reflect/refract map (a HDRI) to help make nice reflections on my scene objects, the HDRI shows through wherever the tree maps should be transparent.

Any solutions? I am obvioulsy being a bit thick!
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

if you use another environmental background in your max-setting then in the vray-rendersettings, simply drag the max-background into the environment slot of your tree-leaf material - voila....no hassles

          Hm am i wrong ?

If you use the new 1.470, you dont need to put opacitys anymore to the refraction slot.

a fast opacity chanal is one of the big improvements with the newer internals. and they are free to everyone that has bought vray 1.09.

          or did i miss something.
