Oh well, just thought you guys would be interested in knowing the software is shipping rather than talking about what it will do. Forget I mentioned it.
hey all
i got mine today as well and just been testing it for the past 2 hours
very impressed that it works perfect with the vray beta versions
and although it looks like it has some amazing improvements , why have they kept the old max 6 logo?
its a little bit ironic having a big 6 logo while it says max 7 underneath
but i guess they have to justify somehow our money for the subscription programme
regards
Cheers,

Hey Travistlo, I totally agree with you on the new camera mapping feature for max, it's super! No need to hassle around with a mediocre camera mapping modifier anymore ;D

I think I read on the discreet webboard that it's been upgraded from being a 6 to being a not-a-six-but-a-double-yin-yang'ish-snake-spiral-thingy™ they'll probably keep the same for max 8 too, then just spin it 180° for max 9
Got my Max7 today. That MR skin shader is insanely fast! Will VRay 1.5 have anything comparable? Every time I try to play with VRay's translucency I have to tear my hair out over the render times before I get anywhere.
Sweet, got my max 7 today cant wait to tear into it.
