No, the limit is 10 computers, regardless of how many processors in each. If you have 10 Windows Advanced Servers with 4 CPUs each you can render on all 40 processors with DR.

intersting, I wonder why its not working? Have you had any luck with getting more than 10 buckets rendering?

I wish I had access to more than ten, but I only have eight buckets available here..

There is a limit of 10 simultaneous network connections in windows worskstation licenses though, but I don't know if that applies in this case.

But each bucket will count as a connection, not each computer.

It's an internal beta, so if you don't have internal build access you have to wait for the public release.

That is incorrect. It was clearly stated by Vray that each COMPUTER is a connection, not every CPU, or worse yet not every thread. This was clear. We have even been told that we would would get 10 connections in DR for every license of Vray. SO if you have two licenses available from the license pool, you could get 20 connections.

On the other hand, I would just note that you really start loosing an advantage after around 10 connections. After that you are wasting most of your time in the network delays.

So personally I would try not to go above 10 computers.

cpnichols: you are correct about the VRay licensing, but there is a 10 connecion limit in windows workstation versions. This could be causing some problems I believe.

Yes, I wasn't reffering to VRay's DR connections and licensing, I was reffering to what Windows considers network connections. Each machine connecting to a Windows machine can have more than one connection open. I was merely proposing that each bucket from Vray is being seen as a seperate connection. Likewise, each time a rendernode needs to connect to a server for a bitmap is a seperate connection.

This is a Windows issue, not a Vray issue, although there might be a way for Vray to get around it but probably at a sacrifice to speed.

Would be nice if windoze allowed more connections, i wonder if there is an app that would trick windoze to allow more connections.
