  • Big Problem with IR + PM

Man, my head hurts, i have wasted all day triyng to figure what the problem is. Im triyng to render a scene with Photons in secondary bounces but im having a big weird problem that that I have never seen before, just look.

First diffuse bounce only with Irradiance map

    The Photon Map

    AND.... The IR + PM

What the heck could be the problem, please help. Thanks in advance.

    My settings.

its a negative image, never seen like that, but maybe color mapping? Check the multipliers, I dont really remember but I think the dark multiplier should be bigger. Maybe u used bright too big and dark too low. So try shitching the parameters. Photon maps looks nice. Hope this helps

      HI!

I think that's because of the retrace threshold parameter.
Have you skylight in this scene..? If you do, try to simulate it with a VrayLight with photons or slide down the retrace parameter untill 0.0.

Maybe this will be solved with the incoming *new* VrayLight Dome...

      Hope this helps.

      Regards,

      Jorge.

It appears to me as if the photon map in the irr+pm image is not loaded. All the edges that are retraced are illuminated, the rest is flat gray.

This must be a really weird bug in this file, this morning i did a render and the problem solved by itself, then like and hour later did another render and the problem reapeared. Im gonna discard this file and start the illumination on another one.

            Thanks for your comments.
