I rendered the same setup with my other machine using Max 5.1 and the new build and got 10:36

Those are impressive numbers for the opterons! Perhaps I need to take a closer look for my next upgrade.
Rerender, what kind of problem does the latest build have with glossy reflections? Is it just settings or is it something else?
It seems there is a major problem judging by your first render time.

See you guys...it holiday time for me.Believe it or not I am a big fan of AMD. I'm happy to hear that Opteron is now competative.
I'm still unclear as to which versions of the VRay engine you gents are running. You folks seem to be all over the place.
If this is with the new beta, could the lack of differentiation in the benchmarks indicate that Vlado and company are not yet throwing the compiler optimization switches one way or the other?
According to official AMD doctrine a 1.83 GHz Opteron 244 is supposed to match well against a 3.06 GHz (533) XEON in most generic processing cases.

Ok. Did the test as well.
On a Siemens Celsius Workstation, it took 14:23min.
-2x AMD Opteron 248 / 2.19GHz
-3.25 GB RAM
But I run the normal XP (no 64Bit) and also the normal MAX 6 version.
Btw. I didn't know, that there is a 64bit version of MAX. I thought I supports 64bit in its normal config. Is this an update?
