  • Modelling / Displacement

Hoping to get some help from the modelling experts here... I need to model this logo out in 3D. Basically for the back piece I've got a beveled spline, for the ribbons I have a loft and the crown is a poly object.

The problem is, I have no idea how to do the middle "armour" piece that holds the tiger. It needs to curl under at the edges and be offset from the back piece a substantial amount. Any tips? I'm pretty slow when it comes to nurbs, is that the only way to accomplish this?

After I get in modeled I'll be unwrapping it and displacing the art detail into it. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Abit of low poly polymodelling and meshsmooth will do the trick. Should be pretty easy to accomplish.

Start in the middle and work our way out then curl the edges over adding the necessary faces.

Try it out and post your attempt, i can help if you need it.

You're serious? Hrrm... there must be some things I haven't discovered with poly modelling then... I've done whole characters before, I guess I just can't visualize it. I'll give it another go!

Yeah man, should be hella easy.

This is some low poly poly modelling stuff im doing at the moment. Quite basic at the moment, but just shows it will be good for what you want to do. Very early WIP
