  • Opacity map/mask...

Hi, How can I set the opacity map in Vray mat like a standard max material?
In max I set the map in opacity box...but in Vray???

Well I just tried this yesterday actually:

I'm not sure about earlier versions but in 1.46 there is an opactiy slot under the maps rollout. You just add your mask map in there and it should do the trick.

Well you could put your map in the refract slot and then change the IOR to 1. That should work, but is not as ideal as the opacity slot.

I tried that yesterday too and it worked, but even the masked part gave off weird shadows because of the so called 'refraction'.

But I hope that works good enough for you until you get the updated version. Are you waiting to get 1.5 when all the bugs are fixed?
