shag:" hair shader and vray incompatible?

i setted up a scene with shag hair and scaline render and i got nice results , then i cahnged the render to vray the hair shader looks whiter in material editor and hair looks black working when rendering.

what is the material that is on the hair?

shag:fur and hair, generally look like crap when rendered with vray. Unless you convert them to geometry. But then you get huge poly counts without some work on the settings to lower the polycount.

Try render them as geometry and see if that helps.
