  • light animation with vray

Hi all i'm about to start a new project which will show some kind of a dance club.
our customer wants the lights to bounce around and change their colors , lights goes on and off and so on and on.
    we are using vray 1.09.03n
will i need to render the whole animation single frame?
did somone tried anything like that?
did you have any problems with animating lights?
    thanks

the best way for a scene like that would be to render a new IR map with every frame.

will the lights actually move or just ones turning on and off flashing?

If they don't move, you could render each light as a separate pass and composite later on. It depends a bit on how many passes that will require if it pays off of course. If your GI passes take the most time, it will be worth considering.

yeah. i would just render it in passes with different lights on or off then you can just flip between each pass

              thank you for your replays
i'll try calculating a irr map for every frame and if that dosn't work i'll do the passes.
did anyone got any problems using volume lights with vray?
