  • residule light from map.

I was fooling with ways to make things glow and i stumbled on something I'm not clear on.
I set up a scene with an object that has a shelac material and one of the material was a vraylightmtl. I rendered it out and it looked terrible.
    I saved the IR map.
I then changed the material on the object to a non vraylightmtl and reused the IRmap from the glowing image.
when I rerendered the light from the last file lingers in the object but acts more like an actual glowing object would (I think it looks pretty good) as the new materail and the old material interacted.
I guessed this might happen but I'm not absolutely sure how they work together.
could someone explain what's happening (more technically so I can repeat it with more confidence)

I used this as a test image because of the layers in the flower make it clear what's happening.
