  • Lightmap calculation phase

    Hi,

Here's a screenshot during lightmap calculation:

What can I learn about that? See the difference between direct lit areas (area light in window) and not direct lit areas. Is the fine noise simply the are light shadow or are these finer samples or something?

    Thanks,

If your scale is screen, all samples are the same size. the size represents how the samples are divided. 0.2 for example means that your samples will be divided in 5 x 5 area's.

Until now, what I found to work best for testing is 0.005 with 400-600 subd. and 0.002-0.001 with higher subd. for the final

If you have the "Store direct light" option OFF, then the noise is coming from the area light.
