  • Blurry Edges

I am rendering an exterior image of a building, and the edges are too blurry. Does anyone have a suggestion for the best antialiasing filter or antialiasing setting for very sharp edges? I have some wood planks side by side with a small gap and the gap is blurring together - the gap is modelled, not a texture map.

I am using Adaptive subdivision 0 to 2, threshold .05, multipass checked, rand unchecked - and catmull-rom filter.

    Thanks.

Could you post a render of your problem?

Maybe the gap is only 0.1 pixels large in your rendering? Catmull rom should be ok for sharp edges. Can you render simply a bigger resolution and scale that down afterwards?

I think you are right. I rendered it a higher (much higher) resolution and the problem went away. Unfortunately this cranks my render time way up, but if that's what you need to do to see the details, oh well.

        Thanks.
