  • Particle Flow & Motion Blur - what is the latest

I am using 3dsmax 6 ( I have 7 but haven't dared to use it on a project yet) I am using VR 1.09.03r (I have been reluctant to move to a later version as up til now things have been working alright). 3ds crashes whenever I try to render PF with motion blur - in fact I don't seem to be getting any motion blur with PF (object motion blur that is) at all even with the Scaline.
The only threads I could find on this were quite old.
Should I move to the latest version of Vray and everything will be magically solved or is there a fix from within max ?

    Thanks as always.

Render only the PF, save rpf sequenze and apply rpf motion blur in combustion or AE, etc... I think this is the fastest method to add MB to particles.

      Thanks

Thanks for the help. For some reason last night after I posted I tried it again - reset 3ds 6 only added PF and then assigned Vray the motion blur worked fine. I think it might have been a problem with trying to assign MB from the PF properties box.
I will also try the AE / Combustion MB as I think that is the way to go.

      Thanks Again

how can you do rpf motion blur in AE?
do you need some kind of plugin?
        Reflect, repent and reboot.
        Order shall return.

          Hello.
I think Combustion is the only app that can read RPF secuences.. for AE it has to be RLA..
might be wrong long time since I opened Ae..

wrong. AE can read RPF as well, but Motion Blur seems to be out of real RPF specs, so AE can“t aplpy it. maybe reelsmart motion blur can read it ... www.revisionfx.com
