license server setup

hi,
I`m about to set up the server for Vray 1,45 usage. We are working in the network - server is only to issue the license file, it can`t contain the whole 3dmax application, and 3dmax with Vray will be used on the network computers.
Question is -> can I run only the VRLserver.exe service on our server without installing 3dmax there? Can I only copy the file there and run it there or does it have to be the complete installation of Max and Vray?

why don´t you try? it´s one minute work.

yes it works.
you only have to point your workstations to the system where the lic server is running.

but you should not waste your time with 1.45.x.
it seems that 1.46.07 is the best beta version so far.

I couldn`t try it, because it`s not me who will be installing it, the admins will and they need to be clearly briefed .
