  • How can I get a mesh from a displacement map?

    A newbie question:

    I need to obtain a "displaced" mesh from a displacement map. Can I do that, and how?

    do it with max Displacement ...not vray ..

      I dont know how exactly to do it in Max, but as natty said is a way.

      You can also do it in Rhino with the Bonus Tools in a very easy way.

      Alias Studio Tools and Softimage too, those are the ones I certanly know, there sure be others.

        Use the Displace modifier in 3dsmax.

          i have tried, but i can't see the model changes.
          Can you post some examples that can help me understand it clearly.

            Hey, those are really Max specific questions check out the help file. Just type "displacement" in the search tab and click on the first thing that comes up. It will all be explained
