2.8 Xeons are quite old when compaired to an Opteron 248. I've had mine for over a year. A more up to date Xeon system would use the 800 mhz bus with a 3.2 mgz processor. I have found HT provides a huge performance increase and run it on 3 dual Xeons with no problems. My 2.4 HT Xeons are significantly faster than my AMD MP2400. All systems use XP pro 2 gigs ram.

I've got A DUAL AMD Opteron 250's, with 6gig ECC RAM 400mhz, I've researched into whats best intel or AMD, put it simple, AMD Is best for rendering/molding, ask Box technoloys, alienware, scotland electronics, all will say the same (BECAUSE THATS WHO I ASKED!) so well yea, AMD rules

Send the file over to me and I'll render it and give you a time
