  • Red and Green dots?

I'm new to Vray. I am trying to render a movie and am using an irradiance map. The image has large green and red dots all over it.

Could someone please tell me what setting is causing this.

    Thankyou.

PS: I would post the image but I don't know how.

you have to have your own or some other server space......you can't host it here......find some free space on the web if you don't have your own, then link it here through the "img" tags....

There are loads of warnings saying "material overbright or invalid colour"

There are 0 errors and 44 warnings at the end of the render. I am using RPCs.

      Does this help?

I will try to post a screen dump.

Yeah. I have raytrace reflections on the glass of the windows. This gives me the reflections I want, for trees across the road.

If raytrace reflections are not possible, what would you suggest?

Maybe it should say "RTFM". Just kidding - I hate that phrase.

I had that problem today, but had no raytrace mats. After turning off emit GI on all the rpc's it went away.

thanks for all the info guys. very much appreciated.

I have changed all raytrace reflections to standard with VRAY reflections.

Where's emit GI? I can't find it. Is it called somthing else, in properties.

EDIT: sorted things out with our I.T. guy. Here's the problem.

If you have "overbright ..." messages, then look for Output maps in some of the material. That is a possible reason for this. This will also remove the artifacts from the image.
                      Best Regards,

                        Thanks, Tisho.

                        I am getting "overbright...." messages.

Sorry to sound like a thick-boy on this but I don't quite follow your solution.

EDIT : I am going to re-map all of the materials that have warnings with vray materials. Is this the correct thing to do?

                            Hi Saulman,

To turn off emit GI, select the object, right click and select VRay properties. Then uncheck the box next to generate GI. Easy as that.

BTW who are you working for in Manchester if you don't mind me asking?

                              Hi Dan,

You have just saved my life, it seems. I did not even see that VRAY properties option.

                              Many, Many thanks.

I am working at Leach Rhodes Walker in the centre. You?
