  • How to speed up animation rendering?

    Hi Guys,

Im rendering an interior animation at 720x576 with a lot of glass and about 10 vray lights. I've precalced the IR map for every 10th frame and am rendering the final frames now but they are taking 1.5 hours each frame!

without going through my settings, can someone provide some general tips for reducing this time?

im using adaptive QMC of 1/4 (still gives some grain on metal but for speed, this is my only option) and set my max reflextio/refraction depth to 6. Other than this, can anything else speed it up?

    Thanks!

my max transparent levels was set at 10. This combined with refl/refr of 6 is probably a bit high.

Im testing using max of 3 for refl/refr and 5 for transparent levels and it seems a lot faster...but i dont want to see black patches

If anyone has gone through this process before and has a good set of optimised values for these two settings (under the global override section) please share!
