  • Need Help with the G-buffer and Color Mapping

My current character animation uses HairFX, which of course is rendered in the G-buffer. I am using exponential color mapping and have everything set perfectly.

The problem is that the hairFX specular highlight's are turned "grey" by the color mapping.

Does anyone know of a way I can prevent the colormapping from affecting the hairfx render or otherwise brighten the specular?

    Thanks for any ideas!

You will probably have to composite the hair, if you don't want it to have color mapping; you may bring this question to the developers of HairFX though, since the hair renderer seems to always clamp colors to white.

    Best regards,

Ok, here is what they said:

I'll talk to Chaos about this, if it is related to the lack of support for the Real Colors g-buffer channel in the hairfx Renderer, this might be corrected in the next 1.6 version.
