I'm not saying I'll be really picky, I just like to know who I'm letting publish stuff. Quality control if you will. BTW natty, you already have access
I agree, I dont think the content of the pages (even the sticky) should be added by just anyone. The sticky shouldnot be discussion, it should just be a FAQ for support.

I'll pass the torch on to anyone else interested in editing vray.info Oh wait, it went out already, nayone got a light ...

I've attempted to rally users a few times in the past as I've had other priorities for a while now but no one gave any interest. Kinda makes me think that all that editing and data entry helped more than I thought. Someone had to do it and I had just enough extra time back then.

Torgeir, can you tell how long it's been since I've accessed the site? Have there been many posts since I fell out so long ago? When was it we got that thing up and running?

Jon, you last accessed the site april 22nd 2003, at least that's the last time you added an article. I guess about 1/3 of the tips/tricks articles and the majority of the newsarticles on the site have been added after that, most of them by me and some by Da_Elf. I think we had the site up and running around april 2002, so it's soon 3 years old

Like you say, it's hard to get others to help out, most of the people with editing access to the site haven't added anything at all. Understandable though, as people in our business usually have more important things to worry about, like deadlines.... This is also the reason why I don't get around to adding everything that should be on the site, and why some of my new features in development are stuck at 50% done for way too long now.

BTW: Your login still works of course.

I think I am going to try and structure the FAQ's around tutorials. Web based with images, and links to more detailed information (from Vray help). I want to get the structure of the tutorials first. Then build the content. Considering I do not know alot of vray, I will be asking for help, and input.

How many people use the vray IRC channel?

I stopped by there a few times, but when i reformatted my computer, I never bothered to reinstall the irc client. Should we really start trying to push the IRC channel more?

P.S. Natty, Is it possible to move parts of this thread into a new one, with an appropriate subject line.
