Holy Subscription Email Bombs Batman

hi,
i just got email carpet bombed by subscribed threads. it seems i get subscribed to a thread just by looking at it , not even posting ?
also i appreciate i`ll probably be added to another now by creating this one! hah

No such problems here. Maybe you clicked on some button by mistake and now you got subscribed to everything? I get subscribed only to threads I post in.

hi alex,
maybe, not aware of clicking anything, it happened when the forum style changed.
seems to have calmed a bit but i was getting subscriptions to threads i hadn`t even looked at.
weird.

What have you changed in the Forums Style section?
If you open one of those threads you got subscription email for without even posting what's the status of the Subscribe button at the top right corner?

hi,
i`ve not changed anything, hadn`t even thought about it until you mentioned it. the status is `+subscribe`. i can`t check on the ones that did it before because i went and unsubscribed to all of them. if it happens again i`ll let you know. it`s been calmer but i`ll click a couple of random threads and see if i get an email.

Yes, just pay a bit more attention of where you click on the Forums, there might be a bug or something that is triggered only with specific actions and we won't be able to resolve it until we know them.

OK we think we figure this out. The old version of the forum didn't have an option for instant email notifications for the Subscribed Forums, there were only Daily or Weekly updates.
In the new version however it is possible to send instant notifications for every update in the Subscribed Forums, so by default now the Forums sends individual emails for every update unlike in the old version where single email was sent per day with all new threads and updates.
