  • How to make all material slots VRay (without using Custom Default Switcher)

I know that by using the Custom Default Switcher under Customise Menu, I will change the Material Editor slots to be VRay and not Standard materials, but by doing that I hit upon problems with 3ds max button icons.

So, how else can I make all the Material Slots be VRay ? (currently mine are all Standard).

    Many thanks.
    Jez

Wouldn't creating a maxstart.max file with the desired materials in the mat. editor do the trick?

i think you can edit the default material library save in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20 17 - 64bit\ENU\en-US\defaults\MAX
