Highlight Glossy is a fake highlight. Ref Glossy is a real blurry reflection.
    uncheck to get fake only

from what i've tried ther is no diffrence in the final result and in render time
when I use ref glossy or hilight glossy as long as I uncheck trace reflactions
what I mean is I can create fake hilights when changing onlt the ref glossy and unchecking the trace reflactions

If you change the ref. Glossy, (assuming that they are locked), and uncheck trace reflections, you will get a fake highlight. If you change the ref glossy, and leave the trace checked, you will get a real blurry highlight.

I did a test scene of just 2 teapots on a plane + 1vray light. 1 render with fake highlights, 22secs. The other with glossy ref. 47 secs. There is a difference.
