  • 1.46.10 ver 1.09.03n tests

    I've set up a test scene that i worked on max 5 with vray 1.09.03n
    i've merged it int max 7 and vray 1.46.10 and manualy set the setting to be exectly the same as max 5
    Here are the results i'm getting on both of them
    max 5 + vray 1.09.03n
    iir map (-3,-1) ---> 12.04 sec
    render(0,2) ---> 3.39 sec
    max 7 + vray 1.46.10
    iir map (-3,-1) ---> 20.02 sec
    render(0,2) ---> 1.37 sec
    How can i improove the irr calc part at the new build
    Thank you very much
    btw all of the above times are for 360 * 288 frame size
    and quality looks the same

    im afraid it goes much deeper then just your irrad map settings and AA settings. Basically its been said that its an extremely bad idea to take an existing scene and switch from 1.09x to the 1.46.xx version. Your qmc settings wont work the same and Ive even heard it said that you need to remake all materials as well.

      hi percy
      i played with teh settings and i got much better times even better then the 1.09.03
      I've used lightmap for sec bounce and.....
      6.23 sec for the irr map + lightmap setup and 1.40 sec for the render
      I'm happy
      just one question
      with lightmap for sec can i still compute it on half of the size of the final frames?
      Thank you
