    Seems it has quite a good speed boost with Xeon CPUs but with i7 CPUs not really

      Yes, there are features that V-Ray Adv has, and V-Ray GPU doesn't. In fact, the opposite is also true - V-Ray GPU has some features that V-Ray Adv doesn't.
      This is the case because of various of reasons. In the end, V-Ray GPU is a different render engine - it shares the same UI and mostly the same features with Adv, but the goal is not to make them one-to-one the same. Check here.
