  • vray 3.6 not reading previous settings correctly ?

    hi,
just playing with 3.6 and noticed when loading a file where adaptive lights are set to 16, it gets changed to 8 when loaded. is that supposed to happen ? are `global switches` settings not supported on file load ? might have always been this way and i`ve just never noticed.
    cheers

I can't reproduce this in here. Can you try saving a empty/simple scene with a random value and reload it? Does it happen on a specific scene alone? Which max version is this?

Yes, this is supposed to happen if you load a file created with V-Ray 3.4 or older. The V-Ray 3.5 builds did this as well. Once you save the scene with 3.5 or 3.6, there won't be any more problems, even if you go back and change the adaptive lights to 16.

This was done because in older builds, the default value was 16, however in newer V-Ray versions, 8 lights usually work just as well and render slightly faster.

      Best regards,
      Vlado
