insufficent RAM?

hi guys

i've a simple question:

after the calculation of the lightmap for inderect lighting and the calculation of the IRmap for primary, max quits. is this a RAM issue?
i set the IRmap settings quite high (min/max subdvs); when i reduce them a little, all works fine.

yeah it does sounds like a Ram Problem ... how much you got ?

my settings are as follows:

res: 3508x2480
irrmap@: -6/-1

and well there's only 1GB in our render-servers

with -5/-2 it works, but there iss a loss in diffuse shadows.
btw: what does 'invalid lighmap samples' mean?
