  • vrimg or exr multichannel?

ok im about to send an animation to the farm. since ive discovered that proexr can read vrimg files just fine into AFX

i was wondering which format i should use?!

im after the smallest file size without noticeable quality issues, and the fastest performance reading in afx....

ill need a handful of multimatts and a couple of other passes (reflections, zdepth etc..)

(if only cryptomatte was supported by afx id be looking at that too.)

beyond that, what re the advantages of vrimg over exr?

    thanks!

well im surprised. a miltichannel exr with lossy (bwaa) compression is 80mb.. a vrimg is 72!

(note: i left the vrayoptionRE active, does this apply also to vrimg files?)

thats some good compression if its lossless..

anyway, still interested in advantages/disadvantages... gonna be a whole lot of frames rendering in the next day or two.
