  • lightmap and animation

i once read that you have to use a higher number of samples when you do an animation with lightmap. is that right ? does anybody has experiences how many samples you need ? for example i use about 1000 samples for a still. now i have 1000 frames for the animation. i normaly calculate ca. every 10-15 with the lightmap. how many samples are needed to have a good result ? 5000, 10.000, 20.000 ? any ideas ? thanks

Seems to do a flythrough type lightmap you need a lot more samples, I have not gotten very good results with this method. I have however gotten great results using the "every 10-15 " method with just substituting lightmap (at still resolution) for QMC as secondary bounces.
