  • Basic question about LUT Export.

    Basic question about LUT

Does VFB's LUT export output any color correction?
(ex: extreme exposure correction and multiple mix correction)

I write the LUT from the VFB and Re-applied it with VFB, but not the same color correction result.
(I checked sRGB on/off and Log Space conversion)

Is there a range for color correction that can be output to the LUT?

    tested on V-Ray 3.60.01

It should export all color corrections, if that's what you meant by mix-corrections.
Not sure however if it would produce identical result if using extreme values for exposure or any other parameter.
How does it work when applying more reasonable color-shifts?

if that's what you meant by mix-corrections.
It is a mixture of Exposure, White Balance, Hue/Saturation, Color Balance, Levels, Curve.

      screen capture below.
color correction result and applying LUT do not match.

Yeah, I can see that the deviation between both is quite a lot. Let me check how that scene works into our environment and I'll get back to you.

Got the same thing here, from what I can see the issue is related to the Exposure.
Maybe there is something that doesn't work with the negative value for the Exposure.
I'll add this into our bug tracking system and will get back to you in case of any updates.

happy that you found the cause of the problem.
            Wait for fix.

To my experience it is the highlight clamping. I am exporting the LUT from magic bullet and everytime i bake into LUT also clamping it give weird result. the rest works almost 1:1. try to not apply only highlight recovery and see if you will get difference still.
