  • A little help re edge lighting workflow :)

I have a client who wants some product renders / animations doing - i'm fine with the main bulk of work, but they want some stylised stuff like the grab below showing the products kind of edge / rim lit?
Any top tips as to a workflow to achieve this please?

This is not actually lighting as such, you mainly see the reflection and specular component.
I would try to do it with a long and thin light. If that doesn't work, you could try planes with bend modifiers and a white light material applied to them. You won't get the specular component this way though, only the reflections.
Getting the position of the plane or lights will be the hardest part. Try the place highlight tool from Max, sometimes works like a charm.

The 'place highlight' tool is also useful.
