I had to remove my 28"4K monitor because MAX 2018 and 4K didn't play well together, so I picked up a 32" Pavilion 2k. I love the 32" screen real estate, however, the color is god awful. What is the best monitor money can buy? Or, should I hardware calibrate this the Pavilion?

Ouch! $3300, I am not sure I can justify that. This one was $375 and got good reviews. The reviews say that it has great color, but mine seems washed out (I am sure the screen grab might not help).

Do the nvidia control panel colour settings need a tweak since you`ve swapped monitors ?

Picking 'Use NVIDIA settings' did help.

you seem to buy things and then do your research to see if they will work for you after you already have them.

You need an IPS panel for color work. Dont get the best monitor money can buy, just get one that is designed to have somewhat consistent colors.
You can get a 1080p IPS monitor for around $2-300, and then at 4k resolution they jump up to $600.
They are rare in odd sizes / in between 1080p/4k - this is why we use 2 monitors instead of one big one - one is for color, one is for other stuff, as a single big IPS panel is too expensive and jumps up too much in resolution.

And you should still buy a hardware calibration device. Try that first, because you should do it to every monitor you have every few months. maybe the HP will work for you once calibrated, nobody knows.

No, just the opposite. I tend to research for a while before I purchase something and I am willing to spend whatever it takes to get what is right. I researched this monitor (https://www.pcmag.com/review/349153/...ion-32-display) and purchased to work better with MAX, but noticed that the color was off. Tweaking the NVIDIA settings did the trick. Any recommendation on a color calibration device. This is the one I have bookmarked (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UBSL3L6...d=LQ6LN5GSWQZ8)

It just seems like you replace a lot of hardware. everyone on the forum told you not to get a 4k monitor and you got one anyway.
your need to stay on the bleeding edge of hardware and software with newest video cards, monitors and copies of max is what is causing crashes and issues with your setup. I don't know anyone who has as many issues as you do with hardware & software, and if anything being willing to spend 'whatever it takes' is why.
cheaper & a couple of years old is often better with what we do because it gives time for everything to be fixed and bugs ironed out. maybe something to consider when doing future upgrades.

The spider pro would be fine for your needs, you can get the slightly cheaper one. i'd be very surprised if you ever used any of the 'elite' features.

So, should I return the 8K HDR I ordered? (joke) Yes, you are probably right. I just want the best stuff to do my best work.

So.. I'm actually testing dual 4k at work right now.
                    What is the exact issue?
                    I want to test here.

First, when you open MAX you get the four ghosted viewports and four working viewports in the upper left viewport. I played with the icon properties (overriding the high dpi set to system) and that helped, but my screen is very blurry; not just the text. All other programs work fine, it is just MAX that is blurry.

So.. as of now, I set as 3840x2160 for both monitor.
I dont see the four ghosted viewports
                        I set as 100%, 150%, 175%, 200% without problem and very sharp.
It is Dell. But, I can not tell model number.

                        What's your video card?
To support duall 4k, you better have some good card.
                        I have TitanX.

I have one monitor and one GTX1080ti. Mind you, all was good in MAX 2017. I got my Samsung 28" 4K Ultra HD Monitor at the end of MAX 2016 and was shocked that MAX 2016 didn't support 4k, so I moved to MAX 2017 the second it came out.

glorybound i swear by the Dell U2713H monitors - Ultrasharp with premier colour. I have 3 although i am dropping one. They are a few years old now so you should be able to pick them up for a decent price. I think they also did a 30" model. Just don't get the HM models
