  • "Autodesk Desktop App" making CPUs 10-15C hotter, loading CPU cores!

I've noticed that when my PC is idle/inactive, one of my processor cores was constantly loaded at 100% and that my CPU temperature was CPU 10-15 degrees hotter than usual (40-45C instead of 30C) right after I turn on my PC. The CPU also didn't transition to a lower frequency and voltage state when idle. After some investigation I found out that what was causing this problem was Autodesk Desktop App! So I uninstalled this thing and immediately my CPU temps dropped down 10-15 degrees from 40-45C to 30C and the CPU could finally transition to lower frequency and voltage state when idle thus saving power and heat.

I STRONGLY urge everyone to check if they notice the same problem with their PC and uninstall "Autodesk Desktop App" if you do. A tell-tale sign of the problem is the presence of the process "chromium process" in Task Manager. If you have this process running there, you are most probably affected by this. What is this app even doing to heat up the CPU so much for no d@mn reason? Another case of "great" programming on Autodesk's part? Or maybe mining info from the users?

Here are some other reports of this same problem happening to other people too:

You do not need it, unless you want to check for updates, patches etc. So just disable it in the Task Manager, Start-up tab (Windows 10). It will not affect the normal running or usage of any Autodesk product, whether it is running or not... so the majority of the time, it can safely be disabled until actually needed. So no need to uninstall it, just disable it as I mentioned
