How to extract displacement mesh?

I heard I can export to vrscene and covert to vrmesh with ply2vrmesh.
But, I got error..[0h 0m 0.0s] [5 MB] error: Only GeomStaticMesh is supported!

Unfortunately it is not possible to bake the displacement and extract the mesh from your vrscene using the ply2vrmesh tool.

We had this in an experimental branch, but it looks like it didn't make it into the actual releases.
