  • Cryptomatte + anti aliasing

    Hi,

We just started using cryptomatte for a project but I can't figure out how to get a clean version of the render channel- all the edges are completely jagged as if all anti aliasing had been turned off. I've attached the cryptomatte channel as well as a quick normal multimatte channel to show the quality difference, both have been rendered with the same settings and at the same resolution. At first I thought this may be an issue specifically with max 2015 so I tested it out on 2018 as well but I had the same problem. I even merged everything out of the file and into a new blank scene with no luck.

Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated! I've never used cryptomatte and don't know much about it so I may be missing something really simple...

    Thanks!

The multi-colored channel is just a preview - this is normal. Cryptomatte channels are not usable without a plugin for your compositor.
